Our Story

QualisA’s roses ensure a long stem, intense colors, and clean and healthy foliage. These characteristics have made us a quality commercial icon in the world of flowers.

Timeline

1992

A group of dutch entrepreneurs with multigenerational expertise in floriculture fund QualisA in Cayambe, northern Ecuadorian Andes.

1998

QualisA buys an additional 29 acres of land to establish a second phase of the farm and escalate rose production. Early experiments with hydroponics.

2001

The first plants of the Freedom rose are planted, many of which are still alive and producing today!

2005

A third phase of QualisA is founded, with 54 acres cultivated for the first time with spray roses, plus an additional 34 acres for experimental crops.

2015

QualisA becomes a FAIRTRADE certified farm, ensuring that its products have minimal environmental impact, and are positively transforming lives and communities.

2021

QualisA joins the Elite Flower Group, and thus forms one of the largest conglomerates of flower farms in Latin America.

Qualisa is a FAIRTRADE certified farm. Fairtrade is a global organization working to secure a better deal for farmers and workers. As a Fairtrade farm we practice the following principles:

QualisA was officially certified with FLORECUADOR in 2007. This certification from Expoflores (Ecuadorian Association of Flower Exporters) has a social and environmental character that guarantees the legal operation of a flower farm production.

BASC:

QualisA achieved the Bussiness Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC) certification in 2006. This global organization is committed to strengthening international trade by implementing international security standards and procedures.
